Evolved Human Genre- driving Wireless Growth

By: Ramachandran Iyer

Wireless segment of Telecom is witnessing unprecedented boom, which has a lot going for in its way. Couple of factors which seem to help the cause is the prevailing Economic feel good factor in the Global economy and soaps from the government which will help bring down the cost of the mobile device and services for the end consumer.

But these factors by themselves are just auxiliary in nature. The actual reason for the flourish in this segment is the very fundamentals which help them. Human society from the very beginning has been highly dependent on the communication aspect whether it be for social or business purposes. Today technology has come a long way in helping us what we need, so very dearly. It is this very essence to communicate with whom-ever we need to, when-ever we need to and where-ever we need to, which has been a long lasting quest and a dream much desired, by the human colossus for ages. That is exactly what wireless phones have given the human society, the power to reach and be reached at our own whims & fancies.

There is no disagreement or second thought on the enormous value addition wireless

telecommunication has brought on. It has revolutionized and changed various facets of how we interact with our social and business mates, of how we conduct our daily nuances, how business dealings are tackled or how we meet our social obligations. These wireless electronic gadgets which has the power to transmit and receive both voice and data information comes in different shapes, sizes and intelligence with some devices being more voice centric and some more data centric.

If one had to look at places like China , India , South-Africa and South-America which boasts of huge population, it was always a given that for the general masses these devices and services need to be in their affordable limits. That is exactly what some of the intelligent handset manufacturers and innovative telecom service providers have done. They have come out with a range of hand-sets and service rates which will appeal to different cross-section of the masses, thus providing options so that they can start adopting these newer technologies.

If one seriously looks around of what is happening, it really surprises us, at the rate at which the wireless technology adoption has happened. Even though one could praise brilliance on the service providers for being so innovative and aggressive in pushing hard these gears to the common man. But, that is not all. The common man has started to evolve much faster in his thought process and is ready to pay a small premium for this absolutely fantastic technology. This is because; it empowers him to be more enterprising and it adds a lot of value to his business machinery or saves a lot of his time.

So I would say, even though we need telecom enterprises who are the propellers of this new wireless technology, which is fast creating ripples in the human society and bringing about visible and vast changes. I would just still argue it's the human appetite for communication which is ever-prevalent and coupled with the modern day evolution of thought process. The evolved thought process is making the individual think more pragmatically in terms of smaller and intelligent investments in newer and smarter tools like these wireless devices. These are in-fact perceived to be as sound investments by the economically backward social class, which will yield enormous returns for him later. For the elite social class, every penny put into this, is forth his time saved and the entertainment these gadgets get him. So things which were luxury items not so long back have quickly turned out to be utility and must-have items. This is how really society is re-defining the communication landscape, especially wireless to top it all.
