I have a similer horrifying experiance with these shopping sites powered by evyapar.com , and they excel in cheating customers.
I sent out bunch of gifts to my family and friends through their site Talash.com in diwali, amounting to more then $500 in total. They all received either lowgrade stale sweets, unrecongnisable flowers, stones or bricks in the parcels or no delivery at all. When i complained to the evyapar.com customer support team, they kept sending me canned answers. I tried calling their phone numbers neither of which worked in US times and i kept getting an answering machine, i put a voice message that never got replied. So, i tried calling the next day in the night when it is daytime in india, the person who picked up could not speak in english and transfered me to another person who was even more terrible. After 30 minutes of forwarding calls between people who could not converse with me i hung up. I wrote them again this time for a full refund, they denied upfront saying they have a no-refund policy. I have never gone through such a horrible shopping experiance in my life.
Finally i tried to chargeback but my card company denied as they provided proof of delivery. They provided courier slips for the stones and bricks they delivered and thus got away with the chargeback. As this was not enough, Now i am getting different charges from them on my card every month with "WP-EVYAPAR.COM AHMEDABAD" description. They are charging my creditcard at will every month with amounts exceeding $200.
I warn everyone who send gifts to india on festivals and occasions through online shopping sites, stay away from evyapar.com and their affiliate sites such as talash.com

not just indiaplaza.com is bad for online shopping, but rediff.com is just as worst.
i had ordered a birthday cake for my brother. I got billed promptly. The cake was hand delivered from some store in Andheri by some cheap courier service who's delivery boy travelled by train in peak rush hour. The cake had no design or garnishing. The boy turned up at my brother's home all sweaty and stinking.
it was the most disgusting experience ever. since then I have never shopped any indian websites to send gifts home.
I carry loads of gift every time i visit home in India now or if it is urgent I send it by DHL or Fedex

I think by far the worst online shopping site is Indiaplaza.com.
My sister ordered Rakhi for me from Bangalore well before Rakshabandhan. As expected she was charged promptly and I never received the Rakhi on time.
After repeated phone calls and emails they confirmed that there has been some (?) delay because of the huge order backlog.
And here is the best part.....
After a week since Rakshabandhan, I recieved a parcel from Indiaplaza.com which contained a very small wall piece with knots which they passed on as Rakhi ;-)
Me and wife laughed our guts out. (I wish I could post the thing which they sent me as Rakhi.)
Avoid indiaplaza at any cost. You will regret if you do business with them.

Tajonline.com ( Tolshop.com) is the worst site to send rakhi. They have very bad customer service. They last year did not send my product and were very defensive when i asked about the poor customer service..

Hi friends,
I am swetha , student in USA from India, I wanted t o send a gift to my friend in India on her birthday. In the idea of sending a gift I preferred to send a gift through online shopping rather than parcel or courier service .So I have done research on many websites and I came across a wonderful online shopping site www.kharidari.com where any one in any part of the world can do shopping .
And I think this is one of the best site for Indians who live in other countries to send gifts to their people in India, its really fantastic!! kharidari deals with different kinds of products and lots of varieties in them. I found the products are of good quality after buying in kharidari.
I was amazed on seeing the kind of products they sell and the variety of gifts they display.
I was really confused which one select. So finally I had chosen a diamond ring for her at very reasonable rate $150.00 and important thing is they had given me guarantee for that. So I was happy.
And best thing is that we need not compromise on the service they provide as it is too good and in a timely manner because I didn’t find any delay. They send my gift on the specified date.

I completely agree with previous post. I had two bad experiences with India plaza. They say item is available when ordering and never ship for 4-5 weeks. But they charge credit card on the day you order!.
Last time I told them that I am going to complan to FTC, if they don't ship item on that day or not return money back. I recieved item next day. AVOID INDIA PLAZA

Indiaplaza really sucks..I have ordered one DVD...it is more than 3 weeks .. The product has not arrived.. I send 2-3 emails to them.. Every time I have standard answer .." We will get back to you in 2-3 days".. Pathetic customer service and also order execution is extremely poor

Bought a car seat and walker for my daugther fron Toys-R-Us online...even though web site says max shipping time is 5 days...didnt receive the item for 15 days...when called...cust.Rep mentioned they are remodeling the warehouse will take additional 10 days...i wanted to cancel the order...they wont do that and have to wait for prodcut to be shipped and returned to local shop....
when tried to return the item to local shop, they didnt pay for shipping and also they didnt refund the original amount i paid for item...they were offering local price of the item... which was 5~15$ less and also wont refund Tax%...lost $25+ for nothing....TOYS-R-US Sucks!...dont buy anything from them online.

one of the worst companies u can see, i had ordered a phone in jan 2006 despite of delivering in 5 days as per promise they delivered in 3 weeks time, the phone started o malfunction, took 2 months to get in touch after that it took a month to pick up the phone, after lot of shouting and grumbling on the phone finally after another month they send me a second hand piece from the workshop, to be surprised it is not even working from the delivery day. now it took another week to request the idiots to pick my phone back, i asked for a complete refund, reply sorry you will get your phone serviced, still not with us. cost of phone is 3,000 rs but for last 5 months it was always running around their workshops and so forth. imagine i had wasted around another 5000 rs for phone calls to chase them
the moral of this company is absolutley rubbish, they declare them selves as an ISO certified company.
