B1 Visa Seeking Suggestions

hi, i had issued a dependent visa (to my husband-H1) in 2002 for 1 year. i was planning for tickets and all arrangements to join my husband, but suddendly my father in law was attacked by a paralysis stroke and was in serious position (now he is at good health) , so i was dropped to travel USA as my in law was in dire need of my assistance.The visa was expired. After 7 months my husband also returned back to India. Now at present iam working for the same company which was the sponsored company to my husband.(now he is working for another company in India) . Now iam applying for B1 Visa to participate and attend the Annual meeting at the head office in USA.
so pl suggest me the required documents & questions i have to take & face. and whether my previous expired visa will effect to B1 visa? Before i go to the consulate i want to take the suggestions of experienced persons like you. pl help in this regard.

Dont worry, If they ask you " why did not you use the H4 visa" Just tell them the plans to join my husband failed since your FIL health was not in good condition at that time"
B1 visa will not get effected.

pls i have than my d.n. a test n yet im w8tn for my midicals,pls i did my dna test on last year,n pls i wnt to know whn is my medicals coming
