How to change status from B1/B2 to H1B while in US?

Hi,

I am currently in US on B1/B2. My I 94 states that I can be in US for nearly one more month only. Now my new employer (H1B petitioner) states that he will transfer my status from B1/B2 to H1 in 15 days and wants me to be there after on H1 status. Later after some time he wants me to go to Mexico and get the stamping. Is this fine? Are there any issues in doing so? I am confused, please help me.

yes it can be done, but make sure u leave if COS didn't get approved.
