Getting a H1 Visa and coming to the US is a 4 step process

Step 1: Find a suitable and a qualified job in the USA

Step 2: US employer files H1 petition for you (work permit)

Step 3: Get the  visa stamp

Step 4: Come to the United States

The first thing you need to do is to find out if you qualify for a H1B visa program. Then the next thing you should do is to find a suitable job and an employer who can sponsor your H1B visa.  The sponsoring employer files the H1 petition with USCIS (Department of Immigration of the United States) upon approval of this petition you will be permitted to work for that employer in the United States.

You will need a visa stamped in your passport in order to legally enter the United States. A visa stamp can be obtained at any United States consulate in your home country.  Based on which country you live in the procedure to get an appointment for visa stamping purpose may vary.
