AirPort Transit Visa required at Germany ?

Lately there are different stories and confusion around the Transit Visa at Germany.
Visitors traveling via Germany may need to have a airport transit visa. Following URL list the countries who need to have airport transit visa.

1. If you are Indian citizen and USA Green Card holder you don't need this airport transit visa.
2. If you hold any US non-immigrant visa , you would need a airport transit visa. You can also contact nearest German consulate to get answer if you have any question in this regard.

Visitors traveling internationally may often need a Transit or Airport Transit visa if your flight has a stopover/change of flight at any intermediate airport/country. Transit visa can be seen as a temporary short period visa. This may allow you to go out of airport or remain at airport.
In general a transit visa is required even if a traveler remains on the same aircraft in the same airport. Duration of validity may vary depends on the country's regulations generally it is valid for few hours to few days e.g. Singapore, it's even available for your 4 hrs of halt time.
