Note: Some
consulates e.g. Mumbai consulate is also closed on the
last working day of each month. 
Tips
- Confirm the exact amount for fee split, payable
either via Draft or Cash. You can call up consulate
offices listed above, and ask for these details.
Note: In
case of insufficient amount, or wrong address on
the draft, your application might be refused.
- There are people who sell Bank Drafts outside
the consulates. Such draft can't really be trusted,
as first of all you are paying more for that, and
secondly the counter slip of those drafts won't
be on your name. Avoid buying such drafts.
- Sometimes few consulates, gives appointments over
the phone, and saves you from standing in the line.
Their rules change from time to time, call up the
consulate to find out more about such facility.
- You are not allowed to carry any bags, suitcases
etc. inside. You can only carry plastic bags. Ladies
can carry their hand bags, but it will be thoroughly
checked.
- .You are not allowed to carry any gutka, pan parag,
and any pointed stuff like goggles, comb, etc..
- You are not allowed to carry any metallic stuff
such as nail cutter, filer, paper knife etc. and
also any electronic item like calculator, digital
organizer, mobile phone etc.
- Make sure that you don't carry any of the above
things, otherwise they will ask you to keep it somewhere
outside.
** Remember: they don't
have any counters for keeping any of your stuff,
no matter how expensive. And it is really difficult
to make last minute arrangements to keep your stuff
outside with someone.
- Be very polite and patient with the consulate
staff.
- Keep all the receipts safely.
