Do some preparation to get ready to leave the USA.

• Make couple a photocopies of I94 and passport/visa and keep it safely, keeping one copy in your hand baggage is useful. These docs are useful in case you loose your passport etc. If you are visiting parent/relative its a good idea to give one copy to your son/daughter to keep with them. These document may be useful for your future visits to USA.
• Check with airlines, about the luggage weight limits and prepare the luggage accordingly, better to be informed, this will save you time and frustration since the airline does not allow any access wait and you may have to pay lots of extra dollars.
• If you are carrying any gifts, make sure you are ware of the custom rules of your country so that you don't have to face any issue at customs in your country. Here is some info about customs in India.
• At the day of departure reach the airport at least 2hrs before the departure time, since you need some time for checking etc.

Once you reach at the airport :

After reaching the airport , you should checking at your airline checking counter.

Following are few important things you must do and required by the us immigration law.

1. Handover your I94 to the airline staff at airline cecking counter. When you do the checking make sure that the airline person has taken out the I94 stub what you had in your passport. If they have not taken it out ask them to take it.
   
   Note : Effective May 6, 2007, international visitors will no longer be required to use the US-VISIT exit when they leave the United States. International visitors who received a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Form I-94, Arrival-Departure Record, upon arrival must still return the form to an airline or ship representative when departing the United States.

Once you reach your destination/home country.

• You may have to go through the immigration check counter.
• You may required to fill some customs and immigration clarence forms for your country.

For Indian citizens going back to India will have to fill a forms called Arrival or Disembarkation form.
