Medicare FAQ's

How does it work, when I’m enrolling/buying medicare plans from a private insurance company?

The federal government pays the private insurance companies to administer Medicare Advantage Plans for you. You remain a member of Medicare and continue to pay medicare applicable premiums. It’s  just that you’re receiving your Medicare benefits through a private insurance company rather than directly from the federal government.

What is a coveage gap in Medicare Part D?

The coverage gap (also called the "donut hole") is the point in the government's basic prescription drug plan where the plan "takes a break" in coverage. This is where, you, the enrollee, pay the full cost for your prescribtion drugs. The coverage gap applies only after you've paid a certain amount of out ofyour pocket for prescription drugs.
