Visitor Insurance Purchase Process
 

All plans available on this website can be purchased online.  Alternatively, if you prefer to buy using a paper application you can do so. 

In order to purchase the policy you will need some information about the applicant like full name, passport number, date of birth, plan start date, and plan end date.  You can buy the insurance for yourself (applicant), your parents, relatives, or anyone else.  You will need a credit card to purchase the policy online.  You will also need a printer to take a print out of the policy. 

When You Should Buy It?

You can buy these plans anytime before the person starts the journey or even after they arrive in the United States.  It is advisable to buy the policy at least a day in advance of the plan effective date. 

The plan start/effective date can be based on the following factors:

  1. If you're buying a fixed/limited plan which covers only within the USA the start date should be the day person arrives into United States.
  2. If the plan is a comprehensive coverage plan with the option of international coverage the start date should be the day the person boards the plane. These plans are effective during the flight as well.
  3. If the person has already arrived you can choose the start date any day you would like to start the insurance coverage. The earliest start date can be the next day.

Policy Purchase Process & Acknowledgement
When you purchase online it’s a simple 3-6 step process which takes 5-15 minutes to fill the application online.  At the end of application process, you should be able to take out a print out.  This can work as your virtual ID card which is ready to use. The print out of the virtual card is the proof of insurance acquired online. The email also comprises information pertaining to the policy with supporting URLs for further reference.

On a later date, you may also receive hard copies of all the necessary documents along with the original insurance card via regular mail to the address stated while purchasing the policy.
