Day Light Saving:
In US, there is no consistency in the day and night span. Here the days are very short in winter, and very long in summers. So, the time is set in such a way, so as to make the maximum use of the day light. Hence, it is so called "Day Light Saving". It is changed twice every year.
Note (Change in DTS in 2007): Beginning in 2007, most of the U.S. will begin Daylight Savings Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and revert to standard time on the first Sunday in November. In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time.
- The clock is reset back in Fall Season, by one hour on the first Sunday of November at 2:00 A.M.
- Clock is once again reset forward in Spring Season, by one hour on the second Sunday of March at 2:00 A.M.
** Some parts of Arizona, Hawaii and Indiana are not affected by this day light saving change.
