2023 Diversity Visa Lottery Results

The Diversity Immigrant Visa program allots 55,000 immigrant visas, or green cards, to foreign nations of specific underrepresented countries each year. These countries have low rates of immigration to the United States. There is no cost to register for the Diversity Visa, or DV, program, and is encouraged to be done so by yourself rather than needing an agent or consultant.

I’ve Been Selected – What’s Next?

If you have been selected for the 2023 Diversity Visa program, you’ll want to follow these next steps.

First, complete the online DS-260 application as soon as possible to schedule an interview appointment at the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

Next, you’ll need to confirm that you have the necessary qualifications to complete your application. The DV requires a high school education, or its equivalent, or two years of qualifying work experience. You must also have a valid passport, with some exceptions. Accepted exceptions to these requirements can be found here

After confirming that you are qualified to continue your DV application, ensure that you have filled out and submitted Form DS-260 via online. Be sure to print out your confirmation page once submitted – you will need to bring this to your visa interview. Make sure to look over all required documents to bring to your interview so you are prepared. You can find a list of required documents here. You’ll also need to pay the mandatory green card application fees.

After your interview, you will be notified if you are approved or denied. Please keep in mind that it can take up to 14 months to have an interview scheduled and to be issued a visa if you are approved. You must also pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee after you receive your visa and before you travel to the U.S.
