H-1B 2024 Lottery Selection Process
If selected during the lottery, USCIS will notify the registrant or representative via their USCIS online account. If there is a valid “Selected” registration notification for FY 2024, then your petitioner or representative can gather the required documentation and file your H-1B cap-subject petition.
If selected, your Form I-129 must have a start date of October 1, 2023 or later, within six months or less from the receipt date of the petition or your application will be rejected/denied. If your application is approved, you may be able to get your stamping done as early as July through the end of the calendar year.
If you do not receive a selection notice in the first round, you’ll be put on a waiting list. If the USCIS needs to hold another lottery after the first selections to fill their cap, then waitlisted registrations will be chosen from. However, the USCIS did not hold any additional lotteries for FY 2023.
