The United States Customs and immigration Service has announced the release of optional checklists to assist in the submission of two application form packages. The checklists are part of a pilot project by the United States Customs and Immigration Service towards making the application process easier for applicants.
The checklists which are designed to assist applicants in identifying and including all necessary documentation, as well as, assisting with the critical steps to follow, are available for:
- Forms I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e), and;
- I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, specific to applicants who have filed for adjustment of status (8 CFR 274a.12 (c)(9)).
The feedback from the pilot project will be used to determine the benefits of expanding the checklist service to other United States Customs and Immigration Forms.
There is no deadline for the completion of the pilot project and applicants are reminded of their responsibility and obligations to satisfy all statutory or regulatory requirements for applying.
