The US Department of State (DOS) has released the August 2015 Visa Bulletin. This month’s visa bulletin shows changes in most of the employment-based visa categories for Indians.
Employment Based Preferences (For Indian Nationals)
The August 2015 Visa Bulletin contains changes in the employment-based EB3 category. Employment-based EB1, EB2, EB4, and EB5 continue to be current.
- Employment Based First Preference Category (EB-1)
- The cut-off date remains current.
- Employment Based Second Preference Category (EB-2)
- The cut-off date remains current at October 1, 2008.
- Employment Based Third Preference (EB-3) & Other Workers Category
- The cut-off date advances by four months to June 1, 2004.
- Employment Based Fourth Preference (EB-4) & Certain Religious Workers Category
- The cut-off date remains current.
- Employment Based Fifth Preference Category (EB-5)
- The cut-off date remains current.
Family Based Preferences (For Indian Nationals)
The August 2015 Visa Bulletin contains changes in the family-based F1, F2A, F2B, F3, and F4 categories.
- Family Based First Preference Category (F1)
- The cut-off date advances by one month to November 1, 2007.
- Family Based Second Preference Category (F2A)
- The cut-off date advances by three weeks and two days to December 1, 2013.
- Family Based Second Preference Category (F2B)
- The cut-off date advances by one month to November 15, 2008.
- Family Based Third Preference Category (F3)
- The cut-off date advances by three weeks and four days to April 8, 2004.
- Family Based Fourth Preference Category (F4)
- The cut-off date advances by one month and 10 days to December 1, 2002.
The Visa Bulletin summarizes the immigrant numbers available each month, providing monthly updates of cut-off dates for different visa categories and countries. Indian applicants whose priority dates are earlier than the cut-off dates may be given an immigrant visa number. EB-1, EB-4, and EB-5 visa categories remain current for the month of August 2015, so numbers are available for all qualified Indian applicants under these categories.
