We are quickly nearing the end of June, which means that the August 2022 Visa Bulletin will be available soon. The July 2022 Visa Bulletin was unfortunately not hopeful for many with minimal movement across the board for India. India EB3 had no change for final action date or dates for filing applications, which was expected. The final action date for India EB2 advanced by 3 months, and the dates for filing applications moved ahead just by 1 month.
Will the August 2022 Visa Bulletin show more movement in priority dates? Let’s discuss what we know and what we expect to see in the upcoming bulletin.
August 2022 Visa Bulletin Predictions
India EB3
India EB3 has been at a standstill for months for both final action date and dates of filing application. It leaves many wondering if we will see any movement in August, or in the months following.
As of right now, we don’t believe that EB3 will move much in August. However, we may see a slight advancement by 1 month for both final action date and dates of filing application. September 2022 is the month that may bring more movement for EB3.

Final Action Date – Feb 8, 2012
Date of Filing Application – Feb 15, 2012
India EB2
India EB2 has been moving slightly each month, so we do expect to see another movement in this category. We estimate that both the final action date and the date of filing application will advance by about 3 months.
One thing to note is that it does not appear that there will be a retrogression for India EB3 for FY 2022. The USCIS has stated that they are in a good position to use all of the available EB visas for FY 2022, which means we will likely see forward progress moving forward into FY 2023.

Green Card Applications Transferred to NBC (National Benefits Center)
It has been reported that I-485 applications transferred to the NBC have been processed very quickly, some in as little as 33 days. This is good news for those who have reached their priority date and have sent in their applications and fees. It isn’t clear whether or not having your application go through NBC is the reason for the speedy processing, but we will monitor this over the next few months.
