A K1 visa, or fiancé visa, is a non-immigrant visa that is issued to a foreign citizen to travel to the United States to marry a US citizen sponsor within 90 days of arrival. Once married, the K1 visa holder can apply for adjustment of status to a permanent resident in order to continue living in the United States. Children under the age of 21 of the K1 visa applicant may also be eligible to enter the United States and receive K2 visas under the same visa petition.
