New Digital Photograph Requirements While Filling the US Visa Application

New Digital Photograph Requirements While Filling the US Visa Application

Posted on September 16, 2014

Applications from certain countries do not require to upload a digital photograph while filling up the DS-160 Visa Application Form. US Embassy / Consulates  may require these visa applicants to take a Biometric Appointment for Fingerprinting & Digital Photograph  prior to the visa Interview or may ask applicants to bring 2 inch by 2 inch photograph at the time of interview.

In the recent past, there have been some changes to the DS-160 Visa Application form where applicants applying for US Visa are no longer required to upload a digital photograph while filling up the DS160 form. These applicants must set up an additional biometric appointment at the Visa application center (VAS) or Offsite Facilitation Center (OFC) before the US Visa Interview at the US Consulate or Embassy.

During the Biometric interview process, biometric information including fingerprints and digital photographs will be collected at the VAC or OFC. Applicants for U.S. visas are required to appear in person for an appointment at the VAC and the visa interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
