H-1B 2024 Lottery Selection Results are Live!

Good news! The USCIS has announced that they have completed their random selection of registrations in the H1B 2024 lottery and have notified all selected registrations via the H1B lottery online portal. Those who have been notified of selection are now eligible to file an H1B petition on behalf of their beneficiary.

In order to see if you were selected in this initial round for 2024, your petitioner must sign into their online portal account and will see one of the following statuses next to your registration:

  • Submitted: This means that your registration is still submitted and eligible for selection, but was not selected in the initial lottery. However, you may be selected for future lotteries if multiple are held to reach the USCIS H1B cap.
  • Selected: You have been selected to file an H-1B cap petition.
  • Denied: If your registration was denied, it is likely that multiple registrations were submitted by the same registrant for the same beneficiary.
  • Invalidated-Failed Payment: A registration was submitted but the payment method was declined, not reconciled, disputed, or otherwise invalid.

If you have been selected to apply, congratulations! Filing for selected H1B petitions will start on April 1, 2023. This filing period will be open for 90 days. Filing cannot be done online, so the petitioner filing on your behalf must do so by paper. This application must also include a printed copy of your selection notice for the H1B 2024 lottery.

If you were not selected, but your status is still “submitted”, sit tight for the time being. If the USCIS needs to run additional lotteries later in the year due to not reaching their cap, you may be selected during a future lottery for 2024.
