May 2022 Visa Bulletin Results and Analysis

The U.S. Department of State has officially released the Visa Bulletin for May 2022 today, April 13, 2022, and the results are leaving many immigrant visa applicants who are waiting for their priority dates wondering if any significant movement is on the horizon.

  • Mexico F2B advances by 9 days; new date is May 1, 2001.
  • Mexico F4 advances by 2 months and 10 days; new date is March 1, 2001.

Employment-based

  • China EB5 advances by 6 years, 4 months, 17 days; new date is December 15, 2015.

May 2022 Visa Bulletin Analysis

The May 2022 Visa Bulletin doesn’t show much significant movement, but could be indicative of a big advancement coming soon. We see that the India Final Action Date for EB1 stays current, while EB3 continues to remain unchanged for 7 months. The India EB2 Final Action Date advances minimally. 

While not much progress is shown in the May Visa Bulletin, many believe that there should be a noticeable jump in the June 2022 Visa Bulletin. There is hope that the Final Action Dates in EB2 will begin to move more aggressively in the last quarter of 2022. We will continue to monitor numbers and updates to determine what we can expect in the upcoming June 2022 results.
