The processing times for certain benefits processed at the International Operations Division headquarters have been published. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) began releasing these processing times on June 9, 2015 and will continue to update the processing information around the 15th day of each quarter (January 15, April 15, July 15, and October 15).

The processing time information shows the average amount of time it takes for a particular case to be completed, giving customers a better idea of when they can expect their cases to be processed at USCIS offices. However, customers should keep in mind that the processing time for any individual case may vary depending on the complexity of the case or if additional information is required.

Requirements to Check Processing Time

Processing times are only available online for Forms I-130, Forms I-131, and Forms I-730 currently. Customers who plan to check the processing time of an application, petition, or request should know:

• The office where the petition was filed; and
• The type of form.

Processing Time for Completed Cases

The average processing times for cases completed by the India Field Office from October 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015 are detailed below.

• Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, filed by US citizen for spouse, parent, or child under 21. The processing time frame for Form I-130 is less than 1 month.
• Form I-730, Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition, filed for accompanying family members of a refugee or an asylee. The processing time frame for Form I-730 is 4.6 months.

USCIS will only display the average processing time for forms that have at least 10 cases.

Processing Time

Processing time begins the date that an application arrives at an international field office and ends when USCIS notifies the applicant with a decision. The published processing times show the average length of time taken by USCIS to complete cases during the period noted on each chart.
