An advance parole documents allows you to travel back to the US without having to apply for a visa. This can be used in place of a visa as proof that you are authorized to travel to the US. However, it does not replace your passport.
Note
Having a parole document does not guarantee that you will be admitted into the US. The final decision is up to a CBP, or US Customs and Border Protection, officer.
Typically, an advanced parole document is used when someone has a pending Form I-485 or Form I-589. In order to receive an advance parole document, you must file a Form I-131, Application for Travel Document.
